Learn how to create a blog and build readership

Do you wonder how to create a blog, but don't quite know where to start? Or do you want to learn more about social media, blogging and websites, and how to generate a wider readership? I do! That's why I joined B.A.B.S.-- Bay Area Bloggers Society. Even by uploading your profile with a short bio and blog link you could potentially generate more traffic to your site. But it isn't just another online network. Begun two years ago and now with over 300 members, B.A.B.S. meets in the east bay, Marin & Sonoma.

According to the site:

B.A.B.S. was founded to bring together teachers of online communication with the community of new and seasoned bloggers and online marketers. Attending our meetings, you will find new blogging buddies, support for your ideas, and answers to your technical questions. If you have tips to share or would like to let people know about your own services, come join us.
Topics we discuss including finding great domain names, using blog platform tools (especially Wordpress), keeping costs down, using social media to expand our reach, writing spectacular content that attracts a loyal following, and different avenues for monetization. We also teach microblogging (Twitter), and the newest options for cutting-edge blogs.
If you can't make it to a meeting, here's an online option: Writer's Digest live webinars. Join this Thursday at 1 p.m. for 75 minutes (cost is $79) of How to Create an Engaging Blog and Build an Audience:
This webinar will review how to create a blog that reflects who you are, and how to connect your message and content with those you most want to reach.
Instructor Dan Blank, Founder of WeGrowMedia.com, helps writers build their author platforms and publishers grow their online communities. All registrants are invited to submit a link to their existing blog (if they have one) or a 300-word description of the blog they are planning in advance of the event. Blogs will either be reviewed during the live event or will receive a written critique after the event!
